The officer who acts as the Shire's "greeter", making sure that new members and visitors informed of activities, are introduced with group members who share similar interests, and many times acts as the group's demo coordinator. They provide hospitality. The person in this position is sometimes called a Chatelaine or Castellan.

Sometimes called the Chatelaine, it is the responsibility of the Hospitaler to meet and greet newcomers to our Shire, and to provide the information they need to become part of the group. The Hospitaler also keeps a store of loaner garb, feast gear, etc., to lend out as needed.
